ABSTRACT
The aim of this work is to describe the process of external surface modelling of two different types of objects – historic, on the example of a water tower and modern, on the example of a sports and performance hall, by TLS method assisted by Dense Image Matching technique. The paper consists of three parts. The goal of the theoretical part is to familiarize the recipient with the concept of a 3D model along with its classification, processing standards and application. The practical part describes the process of obtaining data. It focuses on the nature of the objects and their surroundings, as well as the problems occurring during their measurement. It also presents the stages of data processing from the acquired raw data to a 3D model. It discusses in detail the functions of particular programs that have been used. This part is primarily aimed at bringing the recipient closer to the process of creating discrete, surface and wireframe models. The final part contains a total summary of the process. It also presents all issues and conclusions that emerged during the creation of both the historic and modern objects’ 3D models
